Meeting with Michael and crew over at the Gimme 5 Offices was also able to check out some great shops in the area. There are some great shops in the Shoreditch and Old Street areas now. Great to see East London, becoming a retail destination. If you are ever in London, be sure to check out some of the shops in the area. A Child of the Jago, Present, GoodHood and Three Threads. And if you visit the Present shop be sure to the try the coffee, the truth.

Sly and I were invited up to Surrey about an hour outside of Central London, to attend the release event for the Nash and DC shoe. (Thanks Magdi). Nash, if you haven't had the opportunity to see his work, does some interesting Re-modeling of sneakers. It was Great to meet up with some of the dudes holding down Paris and London.

The crowd reaction shortly after, John Terry's go ahead goal against Manchester United this past Sunday. 41,000 fans, plus Sly and I getting pretty excited.
Ask anyone and they'll tell you, I'm not one to get excited about much. So, when I decided I wanted nothing but to go to the Chelsea V. Man U game at Stamford Bridge for my birthday, my lady (Thanks Babe) and Sly came thru.
I'll preface by saying, my experience is nothing new. It's an experience already shared by millions around the world, I'm just 30 years late.
We, the American sports culture, have absolutely no sport or group of fans that can compare to or compete with the passion and energy English football supporters show for their clubs. On a certain level U.S fans may feel indifferent because we paint our faces or take off our shirts in freezing cold weather, however that level of fanaticism is hardly fu%*ing with supporters of English football clubs.
So recently (and by recently, I'd say 2 years) I began following Chelsea, for no reason other than my good friend, Sly, would watch games starting at 8AM while visiting from the UK. Hence my love for Chelsea. This past Sunday was my first time attending an English Premiere Match, and not just any match but Chelsea and Man United. Possibly the biggest match of the season thus far.
In many ways, it is eerily similar to an ALCS game at Yankee stadium. Scalpers asking “Anyone got any tickets?”, and rather than fans screaming “Let's go Yankees!”, it's “Come on Chelsea!”. However, inside those stadium walls is an energy level no american stadium, sport or fan can duplicate. Forty-one thousand fans screaming chants for 90 minutes. They all paid for seats, but those seats were needless as no one was trying to sit in them.
For a moment we thought our tickets were in the Man U section and at first I was fine with that. I just wanted to see the game. But apparently, that would have been a big mistake. It's not like a Boston fan wearing a Boston hat in Yankee stadium and he/she being cursed at and belittled. Manchester United supporters cheering against Chelsea were getting Pepsi Max showers all day long.
In the end Chelsea won 1-0, thanks to a header in the 77th minute by John Terry.
Priceless.
World Cup 2010, Here I come.
The 4th Game of the Season. Knicks are far from playoff bound but wait till next year!
Knicks first victory on the season, 1-3. Cleveland on Friday.
This kid has a future.
